Ever imagined yourself as Gulliver among Lilliputian buildings? It’s even more exciting if those buildings were famous world landmarks like the Taj Mahal, The Great Wall of China, Forbidden City or the Petronas Towers. And what if I have to tell you that this fantasy is possible indeed.
On a rather humid morning recently, Rosemarie and I decided to embark on a journey west of Johor in Malaysia. We were headed in the direction of Malaysia’s latest attraction – Legoland. During our numerous travels in the past couple of months, we heard rumours of an exciting theme park that’s driving kids and childlike adults crazy. So we decided to check it out.
So off we went on a merry walk with Aidah our trusty guide to explore what the celebrated Danish toymaker had to add to pique our imagination further. We were not disappointed at all! A staggering 30 million LEGO bricks were used just to create the Theme Park where I felt like I was the protagonist in the Jonathan Swift’s novel.
Our aim in writing this is not to tell you how big the theme park is and what rides are available or what you can eat in the 20 odd restaurants whilst there because that’s for you to discover. And while you are at it, especially at the theme park, you will come across a miniature Singapore Merlion. There is a blue button you need to press. Go ahead and press it and tell us what happened next….
There is no delight like Childlike delight!
