Just a five minute drive from the Adisucipto International Airport, the Sheraton Mustika Yogyakarta Resort and Spa is an ideal place to stay if you’re in town to explore the sites.
Fitted with classic Javanese architecture and décor, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Though the bathrooms seem dated and its tiles discoloured the service and locality more than make up for it.
The hotel has 110 Garden View Rooms and 73 Volcano View Rooms offering views of the resort’s tropical garden and Mount Merapi, respectively. With only 16 rooms on offer, the lagoon access rooms on the first floor provide privacy, tranquillity and balconies with direct access to an elongated pool.

A must do is a visit to the Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa. Offering treatments using a variety of traditional herbs, it’s a great place to unwind after a long day out in the sun. The breakfast spread is decent with a choice of both international and local Javanese cuisine.
If you’re looking for convenience, Sheraton Mustika is the right place for you. The hotel is situated in close proximity to the famous Malioboro Street and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Prambanan. Borobudur however is about a 90-minute drive away. The hotel can also provide car rental services with a driver should you need it.
